Israel Follows Trump’s Anti-Muslim Orders In AM Declaration

Donald Trump has been accumulating a number of words associated with his name, and they are not “doctor,” “Ph.D.,” “MS,” “JD,” or “occupant.” No, his words look more like this: racist, misogynistic [contempt for women], xenophobic [prejudiced against people from other countries,] gynophobic [fearful of strong women], and the list goes on. It got uglier.

Democratic Congresswomen Representatives Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota are the first two Muslim women elected to Congress. They planned a visit to the West Bank. The two women have been outspoken in their support of the Palestinians and the boycott-Israel movement.

Donald Trump has been pressuring Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to keep the two congresswomen out:

‘It would show great weakness if Israel allowed Rep. Omar and Rep.Tlaib to visit. They hate Israel & all Jewish people, & there is nothing that can be said or done to change their minds. Minnesota and Michigan will have a hard time putting them back in office. They are a disgrace!’

Trump succeeded. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was in Jerusalem where he had taken 31 Republican legislators:

‘I feel very secure in this, that anyone who comes with open ears, open eyes and an open mind will walk away with an understanding, just as all these members here do, that this bond is unbreakable. think all should come.’

Dr. Hanan Ashrawi said the purpose of the visit was to allow the congresswoman:

‘[To] engage with the Palestinian people directly and to see things on the ground.’

Ashrawi founded the Independent Commission for Human Rights, also founded MIFTAH, the Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy, and the National Coalition for Accountability and Integrity (AMAN). She said:

‘What are they [Israeli lawmakers] afraid of? That they might find out things?’

Former Israeli consul general in New York Alon Pinkas spoke on Israeli Army Radio this week:

‘If they are prevented from entering, it will be the foolishness of the Netanyahu government…are congresswomen of the majority party, which most American Jews vote for.’

The House of Representatives voted to officially condemn “all forms of hatred” after Omar  said that activists and in Israel:

‘[Were] pushing for allegiance to a foreign country [invoked] dual loyalty.’

In July, the House passed a popular bipartisan resolution that condemned the boycott-Israel movement [as destructive for the peace process:]

‘…promotes principles of collective guilt, mass punishment and group isolation, which are destructive of prospects for progress towards peace.’

Former Israeli ambassador to the U.S. and former deputy foreign minister Danny Ayalon talked with Israel’s Kan Radio this week, too. He said the women should be welcomed but “with restrictions:”

‘If they want to stage a provocation by entering the Temple Mount with Palestinian hosts, then that can be prevented.’
