***UPDATE** Politico now says this was a mistake
As most Democratic voters know, Joe Biden’s pick for running mate in 2020 is crucial to the upcoming election. Mostly, that’s because it’s probable that Biden will not run again in 2024 if he wins the election this November and his VP pick may be the best choice in the next campaign. But also, if Biden picks an inspiring choice that will raise enthusiasm in voters, it can only help him on November 3.
Politico published an article claiming Joe Biden picked Kamala Harris as his running mate, and announced it August 1. It’s since been changed, and scrubbed from the piece.

On Tuesday, POLITICO inadvertently posted an article saying that former presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) had already been chosen. The information they gave said that:
‘Joe Biden chose Kamala Harris to become his running mate for the 2020 election on Aug. 1, two weeks before the Democratic National Convent, after keeping his choice close to the chest for months.
‘In his announcement, Biden called Harris “a worthy opponent and a worthy running mate,” alluding to the pair’s rivalry in the earlier of the Democratic primary. She will bring her experience as a prosecutor, household name recognition, and skill as a debater to the ticket.’
Biden aides, surrogates and major donors see Kamala Harris as the best fit at the onset of the process — at least on paper — to join Biden atop the Democratic ticket. https://t.co/RWdrnmabqa

It’s possible that POLITICO has articles ready to go for the upcoming announcement, which is scheduled for next week. The quote, however, and the exact date of the announcement are odd unless the Biden campaign has given quotes for each potential choice.
If POLITICO does know something the rest of us don’t, however, it will be a Biden/Harris Democratic ticket against Trump/Pence Republican ticket.
As Joe Biden met with reporters, his list of talking points was captured by an @AP photographer. The notes suggest the Democratic presidential candidate is eager to defuse any tensions with Kamala Harris, a top contender in his search for a vice president. https://t.co/vFmuQmBSam

In related news, Biden gave a press conference on Tuesday, where he kept the secret of his choice for VP vague. However, Biden had a paper in his hand that was caught in a close-up. According to the Associated Press:
‘As he took questions from reporters on Tuesday, Biden held notes that were captured by an Associated Press photographer. Harris’ name was scrawled across the top, followed by five talking points.
‘“Do not hold grudges.” “Campaigned with me & Jill.” “Talented.” “Great help to campaign.” “Great respect for her.”’
This is the most important election of our lifetime. With @JoeBiden as president, we'll be able to build an America that lives up to our ideals. pic.twitter.com/q9xVPd2PuF
