A Fox News host finally cracked and had enough of his network defending the horrible things Donald Trump says, saying he is sick and tired of hearing it.
On Tuesday’s episode of the network’s show “The Five,” host Greg Gutfeld didn’t hold back when asking Eric Bolling to “Trump-splain’ the GOP front-runner’s most recent controversial remarks — his disgust with Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton having to use the bathroom.
“When Hillary makes up something as egregious as, ‘Donald Trump has now become ISIS’ recruiting tool,’” Bolling replied, “what [Trump] does is he responds as he does with everyone else — he goes back at whoever the attacker is.”
“I just wanted to hear you defend this,” Gutfeld snapped at Bolling. “Because I’ve heard people defend him about making fun of a disability, making fun of John McCain, making fun of women, a woman’s face. I wanted to hear somebody defend this as well. Because it never ends.”
“No one will ever stop defending the crass stuff he says,” he continued. “I haven’t used that word [‘schlonged’] since I was seven years old. I don’t understand this — and I also don’t understand the comment about the bathroom. I’m sick of hearing people defend this stuff.”
“By the way–” Gutfeld added, “we’re not even allowed to use the word that he said, but somehow we’re going to have him on our network all the time. Meanwhile, we treat our employees far differently than that.”
“[Trump] was at a campaign rally saying, ‘She made something up, she lied about it,’” Bolling said. “Then he went on and pointed out the fact that she was late coming back from — ”
“That’s Trumpsplaining!” Gutfeld replied.
Gutfeld went on to explain that the bigoted candidate is surrounded by “toadies,” who continuously cheer him on and make him hungry for the cheap laughter and attention that he is receiving. He also declared that he does not think that Trump will be capable of securing a win against Clinton in the general, as most would agree that he is far too impulsive to be seen as a leader and taken seriously.
“Instead of thinking about what he says, he’s impulsive and it makes you wonder, do you want an impulsive leader?” Gutfeld asked. “Or do you want a leader that thinks? I want somebody who can beat Hillary — I don’t think an impulsive leader is going to beat Hillary.”
When even Fox News hosts — who live for pandering to the bigoted right and selling fear — believe that you are crossing lines, you know things have gone too far. In fact, even the epitome of evil, war-criminal Dick Cheney himself, has stated that Trump has gone too far. It is truly horrifying that this man is leading in the GOP polls.
No matter who wins the election next year, we clearly are going to have a lot of work to do to fight the hate that clearly runs rampant enough in our nation that a demagogue like Trump could even have a chance.
