The Republican party of 2016 is being led by a carnival barker. Donald Trump is not really a man of conviction, in that he changes his opinions faster than he changes his hair color and according to who is the latest to slight him. Naturally, he leaves behind an internet full of examples of his blatant Trump hypocrisy. Stephen Colbert, because Trump didn’t appear in Thursday night’s debate, put together a montage of Trump’s opinions and positions, which seem to change on a daily basis. We’ll call it Trump v Trump.
The segment begins with Colbert talking about the fact that Trump chose to stay out of the debate because of a feud he’s having with Fox moderator Megyn Kelly. His claim is that Kelly is biased against him, because she asked a tough but fair question during a previous debate.
This was the question:
Your Twitter account has several disparaging comments about women’s looks. You once told a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees. Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president, and how will you answer the charge from Hillary Clinton, who was likely to be the Democratic nominee, that you are part of the war on women?
So, to prove that Trump wasn’t sexist, Trump called Kelly “not professional,” a “bimbo,” and the worst, saying that she had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her…whatever.” Nope, not sexist.
Trump may proclaim himself the professional, but it was Kelly, and not Trump, who showed up to do her job on Thursday.
“Why would he want to practice going head to head with a strong blonde woman,”
Colbert asked, with a picture of Hillary Clinton on the screen.
At around the 2:20 mark, Colbert announces that “If Fox News has no Trump, then I am all Trump,” and all Trump (hypocrisy) he proceeded to be. Colbert called it:
The 2016 Top Tremendous All-You-Can Trump Luxury Presidential Debate.
Colbert went on to offer us “Donald against Trump, or as they’re known by their celebrity couple name: Dump.” On the video, Colbert shows how Trump has flip-flopped on his opinions on Ted Cruz, Iowa, Hillary Clinton, Megyn Kelly and his cabinet.
Here’s the video, enjoy:
