Conservatives absolutely hate it when you accuse them of being involved in a concerted war against women in this country. They say they cherish women and just want to protect them.

Which, of course, is absolute and utter bullshit.

When they aren’t trying to restrict a woman’s right to do what she chooses with her body and her reproductive freedom, right wingers are standing in pulpits and letting us all know exactly how they feel about women. And it is not a pretty sight. To be perfectly honest, it’s frightening and belongs to another time completely, like maybe the Dark Ages.

The latest entry into the War on Women comes via Steven Anderson, a pastor in Arizona, who recently asked his congregation:

You know what they mean [by women’s rights]?

I know what I mean, but let’s allow Brother Anderson an opportunity to prove just how intolerant and backwards he is:

The right to divorce your husband is what they mean. You know what they mean? The right to rebel and disobey your husband, the right to divorce him, the right to go out and get a job and make your own money, the right to tell him what to do, the right to go vote for our leaders as if women should have any say in how our country is run when the Bible says that ‘I suffer not a woman to teach, not to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.’

I am quoting the Bible now!

The Bible also says that if your child disobeys or dishonors you, you have every right to stone them to death, much the same as the Taliban does in Afghanistan. Does Pastor Anderson advocate such barbaric methods? He just might, now that I think about it.

So women, according to this small-minded sack of human excrement, should not be allowed to vote and be confined to the house. I suppose they should also be barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen cooking for their man.

Memo to Pastor Anderson: This country and this world is a lot better off since women started voting and voicing their opinions. We need more of that, not less. As for bigoted dillholes like you, Pastor, I say we revoke the tax-exempt status of your “church” and make you get a real job.

If you can stand to watch, here’s Pastor Anderson spewing his hatred:
