At a campaign event in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump called for a boycott of Apple, until the company agrees to unlock the iPhone of San Bernardino shooter Syed Farook.
“Boycott Apple until such time as they give that information,” Trump said. “It just occurred to me.”
Apparently, it just ‘occurred’ to him while using his handy dandy iPhone. According to MSNBC, it was just a few minutes after calling for the boycott that Trump, or whoever is controlling his Twitter account, sent multiple tweets from an iPhone.
Trump has previously tweeted from an Android, suggesting that it’s possible that the the hotel magnate has more than one phone.

To be sure, Trump has also tweeted from an Android device in the past, suggesting it is possible that the Republican presidential candidate has multiple phones. Trump said he plans to stop using his iPhone and instead will rely on a Samsung device until Apple cooperates with authorities.
The Republican front-runner in the 2016 White House race has been a frequent critic of Apple and called on the company to make more products in the United States.
Trump’s spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, said the real estate mogul does not use an iPhone.
Well, someone using his Twitter account does.
Watch courtesy of MSNBC:
The U.S. Department of Justice filed a motion to force Apple to comply with a judge’s order for the company to unlock the iPhone which belongs to one of the San Bernardino shooters.
Part of the battle is whether to protect user data or give in to demands in order to help the FBI.
Trump isn’t thinking this through.
The filing escalated and a showdown between the Obama administration and Silicon Valley began over security and privacy. So in theory, it might sound like a good idea, until you weigh out the consequences.
Also, Trump mentions that Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO is a liberal, so apparently that makes him a very bad man. At any rate, Conservative suck at boycotts so this won’t harm the tech-giant’s sales.
