Levi Johnston is over the moon tonight after winning the most important court case of his life on Tuesday. Johnston could not contain his joy while boasting like a proud papa on his social media accounts that same day. Surely Bristol Palin was fuming when Johnston posted about his victory on his Facebook page. In fact, we are pretty certain that Bristol was pissed since the Facebook post has since been removed, for whatever reason.

Johnston has been engaged in a nasty custody battle for his now 7 year-old son since the child was born. He announced in 2009 that he would be suing Bristol for custody of his son after the two had a nasty split and he suddenly was not considered father material. The case was dismissed due to lack of activity after the ex’s came to a mutual agreement in 2010, but Johnston decided he wanted equal parenting time in 2013, and so the case picked back up.

Johnston claims that the entire Palin family did everything they could to ensure that he could not parent or even see his child. Johnston expressed the happiness and relief that came with this court ruling:

“I have been getting a lot of inquiries about recent articles and headlines in the news. I have been asked what I think and while I would rather not have my words twisted in an interview I have decided to post a little statement on here. I’m so happy to have my son in my life, and to put all of this back in forth in the courts behind me. “It might have taken me 7 years and cost me around $100,000 in lawyer fees, spread out among 3 different lawyers, as well as a lot of patience, but it was all worth it.¬†I’m happy now to be successfully co-parenting.”

“Although I do owe some back child support, altogether I have paid $50,000 in child support for Tripp, which is $600 a month, since Tripp’s birth so at the end of the day I know I have worked hard to meet my obligations as a father.¬†Despite what some have heard I’ve always been there for him, and I go to almost every school event that I can and spend all of my free time with my kids. Right now life is really looking up for our family.”
