KKK Rally Erupts In Violence, At Least Three People Stabbed, 13 Arrested

Violence erupted at a Ku Klux Klan rally on Saturday resulting in at least three people being stabbed, with one of them in critical condition, and 13 people arrested in Anaheim.

According to some witnesses, KKK members used the end of a Confederate flag pole as a weapon to fight counter-protesters.

The New York Daily News reports:

At least three people were knifed, two of whom were reported to be counter protesters, at the hate rally in Anaheim, just 2 miles from Disneyland.

A small group of racists representing the Ku Klux Klan announced that it would hold a rally at 1:30 p.m. at Pearson Park, but by 11:00 a.m., several dozen protesters showed up at the park to confront the Klan, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Several men attended wearing black garb with Confederate flag patches and were escorted by police around the edge of the park.

After violence erupted, some of the protesters could be seen kicking a man whose shirt read “Grand Dragon.” One protester collapsed on the ground bleeding, crying out that he had been stabbed.

Several other people were also handcuffed,” the LA Times’ James Queally tweeted.

This had to be awkward for the hate-group member. “How do you feel that a Jewish man just saved your life?” a CSU professor said to the Grand Dragon as he pushed him away from the melee.

The Los Angeles Times reports:

Brian Levin, director of CSU San Bernardino’s Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, said he was standing next to the man in the Grand Dragon shirt when a crowd of protesters carrying weapons swarmed the Klansmen.

A brawl broke out and one of the Klansmen was knocked to the ground and kicked. Levin said he later saw the man’s arm bleeding.

Levin said he pushed the Klan leader away as the violence continued and a protester was stabbed.

Levin recalled that he asked the man,”How do you feel that a Jewish guy just saved your life?”

“Thank you,” the man replied, Levin said.

The amount of those arrested isn’t exactly clear at the moment.

Because now, apparently 13 people were arrested.

Queally tweeted that the “Weapons used were flagpole and knife in separate stabbings. Police said crowd attacked KKK as soon as they arrived.”

Queally said the flag pole used may not have been from a Confederate flag. Another picture was seen on Twitter of a KKK member holding the American flag but in a seemingly threatening manner.

Police were told that the purpose of the protest was that “white lives matter, too.”
