Johnny Depp isn’t typically an overly political person, but he certainly has some very strong opinions about Donald Trump and the character he portrays on the campaign trail. Just last month, Depp starred in a satirical shut-down of The Donald via a Funny Or Die video spoof of Donald in the 80’s. The fact that Depp was able to make Donald Trump look even more revolting than he already did speaks volumes of his acting abilities. Check the link above for the Funny Or Die video.
This weekend, Johnny was giving an interview in front of an audience at Arizona State University when the topic of conversation turned to Donald Trump. Depp didn’t hold back in letting his feelings for Trump be known as he went off on a tirade mocking the Republican White House hopeful and great American joke.
In sticking with his Funny Or Die impersonation of Trump, Depp’s voice morphed into a nasally whine, yet his words were overly-confidant and of no substance. The mock was spot-on! The crowd roared as Depp talked about building a “fabulous” wall and owning “everything.” The actor was able to laugh through the rhetoric, but it really makes you think..how can a joke become the Republican front-runner in the 2016 presidential election?
Depp said this, even working in a Reagan impersonation:
“‘You’ve got Reagan, back in the day, saying: ‘Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall.’
Donald Trump: ‘I’m going to build a wall. A fabulous wall, a sensational, sensational wall…
And all of my billions are not going to pay for it because Mexicans can pay for it.”‘
Depp confessed that it was, in fact, very hard to get into the Funny Or Die character, and when asked why, Depp simply responded:
‘What he is, I believe, is a brat.’
This revelation whipped the crowd into a frenzy as the audience comprised of mainly college students agreed whole-heartedly with the beloved actor. When college kids think you’re too immature to be President, you’re in pretty bad shape.
