Donald Trump isn’t just gaining notoriety in the United States for his outlandish and often bigoted campaign for President, he’s becoming a source of mockery for publishing houses all over the world. The Washington Post recently compiled a gallery of international Donald Trump cartoons, showing just what the rest of the world thinks about the business mogul and potential future President of The United States. Here’s a few of our own favourites from around the world, thanks to @globalcartoons:
It’s fair to say that Trump is now officially a worldwide laughing stock. He’s become associated with stupidity, hatred, greed and has seen himself become a real life, walking, talking cartoon. Can this man really become the next President of the United States of America? If he does, will he ever obtain the respect of his peers around the globe, or will he drag America down into a farcical existence where it’s leader is widely acknowledged as a crackpot loon, not to be taken seriously on the world stage? I think we all already know a national leader that fits that description…do we want to see the supposed leader of the free world turn into that?
We deserve a President who exemplifies intelligence, freedom, fairness and hope for the future of the country. With Trump, we’re going to get a President who encourages segregation, who mocks and scoffs at those who might question him, a President who has no clear policy or plan for the country but instead has built a campaign on a foundation of inane rhetoric and catchphrases. The rest of the world, as the above cartoons show, can clearly see through the charade that is Donald Trump, reducing him to exactly what he is, a mouth and hair piece, ideally lampooned in cartoons. When will America wake up to the reality of the Trump campaign and finally put an end to this disgraceful and flagrant misuse of the Democratic process? How many more cartoons will it take to open people’s eyes?
