You know things have gotten pretty bad when you’re a die hard liberal but you start cheering when a conservative rakes Trump over the coals. Well, it’s gotten to that level of crazy.
On Thursday, a steaming Ted Cruz blasted Donald Trump for his repeated attacks on his wife, Heidi.
‘When he gets scared, he screams, he yells,’ Cruz said to reporters about presidential running mate, Donald Trump.
Sound familiar? Well if you have children, that’s because it probably happens from time to time.
Cruz goes on:
‘Donald, you’re a sniveling coward and leave Heidi the hell alone,’ Cruz said to reporters in Wisconsin as he shook his finger at the camera.
When asked if he would still support Trump in November if he were to become the Republican nominee, Cruz replied:
‘I’m going to beat Donald for the nomination.’
A clearly very riled up Cruz went on to say three times:
‘Donald Trump will not be the nominee.’
What started off as a light-hearted rivalry quickly turned sour this week when a Twitter war broke out between the two blowhards.
As per usual, Trump is the one instigating most of the banter between the two, tweeting a photo Tuesday warning Cruz to “be careful” or he would “spill the beans” on Heidi. This was Trump’s response was to the conservative super-PAC “Make America Awesome,” that was targeted towards Mormons in Utah, urging them not to vote for the businessman gone politician. Despite no known connection to the Cruz campaign, Trump nonetheless blamed the Texan Senator for the provocative ad hitting the media.
On Wednesday, Trump took to Twitter to retweet a photo of both wives side by side, seemingly mocking Heidi’s appearance:
When Cruz spoke to reporters, he played on Trump’s highly publicized feud with Megyn Kelly, saying:
‘Donald does seem to have an issue with women. Donald doesn’t like strong women. Real men don’t try to bully women. That’s not an action of strength. That’s an action of weakness. It’s an action of fear. It’s an action of a small and petty man who is intimidated by strong women.’
Well, if there’s one thing liberals will agree with Cruz on, it’s definitely that. And also probably only that.
For now, Cruz seems to have gotten the last word, though we can all rest assured it won’t stay that way for long.
