The Twitter War Continues: Ted Cruz Responds To Donald Trump Retweeting Photo Of Heidi

Donald Trump’s Twitter war with Ted Cruz has reached new heights, with Trump recently retweeting an image of someone comparing Heidi Cruz to Melania Trump, clearly mocking the former’s looks. The image in question features a side-by-side comparison of the two women, with the caption reading, “No Need To ‘Spill The Beans’ The Images Are Worth A Thousand Words.”

Quick recap, for those who don’t know the origin of the ‘spill the beans’ expression, or any of this madness, for that matter: The Cruz campaign released a adult photo of Melania Trump with the intent of encouraging Utah voters to vote for Cruz over Trump. Trump then brought Cruz’s wife into the mix, tweeting “Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”

These men both want to and think they are qualified to run a country?!? Let’s take a moment and consider the fact that these two men, who both have a shot — admittedly, one has a better shot than the other — at becoming the Republican nominee and potentially the President of the United States, are engaged in a Twitter war right now. This is the kind of thing passive-aggressive teenagers get into, and we are witnessing it happening between two Presidential candidates.
Even Trump and Cruz’s fellow Republicans are getting tired of this nonsense. Megyn Kelly of Fox News recently got involved — we all know what Trump and Kelly’s relationship is like — and expressed her disgust with the two, particularly, it seems, Trump.
Cruz has responded to Trump’s retweet featuring his wife, telling him “Donald, real men don’t attack women. Your wife is lovely, and Heidi is the love of my life.”

Is Ted attempting to end this mess? Maybe. It is likely, though, that his “real men” remark is not going to put a stop to things. Especially considering who it is aimed at. If Donald Trump has proven one thing in this election so far, it is that he will not let someone else have the last word.
