You may remember comic Chelsea Handler from her show Chelsea Lately that aired on E! from 2007 until 2014.
Ever since her show ended, the 40-year-old comedian seemed to fizzle out. However, Handler fans can now rejoice as the outspoken, and sometimes crude, comedian is making a comeback with a new show — only it’s a little different than what you may have expected.
The popular online streaming service Netflix has partnered with the bold blonde for a new self-titled show “Chelsea,” that will stream three times per week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Although it appears to be similar to a standard talk show, rest assured it is anything but that.
If you’re a Chelsea Handler fan, you’re probably already aware and have watched the first two episodes. If not, then you really should — and here’s why.
Chelsea is a talk show aimed at, well, just about everything. Handler claims in the first episode that it’s “the exact kind of show that I always wanted to do” and also the “college education I never had.”
Along with a desire to learn more about the world around her, Handler is quite politically motivated, with a strong allegiance to the Blue.
And what’s one thing liberals have in common? Our complete repulsion for The Donald, that’s what!
The first episode of Chelsea is called “Appetite for Instruction,” during which Handler proves she is unafraid to call out the presumptive GOP presidential nominee for being what he really is:
‘Now, from what I can gather, I am almost positive that this is an election year. So you might not know it, but you need me. Without my insight, how will the American electorate ever be able to decide between a highly qualified woman with impeccable credentials and a bankrupt, misogynistic, racist, orange asshole?’
If you follow Chelsea Handler on Twitter, you’re probably already aware of her complete and utter distaste for Donald Trump. She’s tweeted numerous hilarious digs at him since he began running for president; here are just a few of the best:
Referring to her Netflix exclusive documentary series Chelsea Does, Handler tweeted this back in March:
Handler’s sour opinion of Trump is not a new phenomenon, though. A couple years ago she hilariously roasted the business mogul on her previous talk show, Chelsea Lately.
You can watch a clip of that below, via YouTube:
It’s clear that Handler is no friend of Trump, and she’s certainly not afraid to bare it all just to prove her point. She tweeted this last month:
Well done, Chelsea, well done.
