A former member of the Secret Service has revealed in a new book that Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton is “erratic, uncontrollable, and occasionally violent,” and therefore “unfit for the Presidency.”
Gary Byrne, besides formerly serving as a Secret Service agent who was stationed right outside Bill Clinton’s Oval Office, also “served in federal law enforcement for nearly thirty years, in the U.S. Air Force Security Police… and most recently as a Federal Air Marshal.”
Excerpts of Byrne’s book, which is not yet published, and is titled “Crisis of Character: A White House Secret Service Officer Discloses His Firsthand Experience with Hillary, Bill and How They Operate” were obtained by Page Six.
As reported by The Hill, they read as follows:
‘What I saw in the 1990s sickened me…Hillary Clinton is now poised to become the Democratic nominee for president of the United States, but she simply lacks the integrity and temperament to serve in the office. From the bottom of my soul I know this to be true. And with Hillary’s latest rise, I realize that her own leadership style – volcanic, impulsive, enabled by sycophants and disdainful of the rule set for everyone else – hasn’t changed a bit.’
As further reported by The Hill:
‘Byrne recounted seeing a vase “smashed to bits” and Bill Clinton sporting a “real, live, put-a-steak-on-it black eye” one morning in 1995 after a loud fight between the Clintons the night before.’
“Loud fight” sure is pretty subjective. Some people have “loud fights” with their microwaves. In addition, black eyes must only come from your wife wildly punching you in the face.
Not. In other words, just looking at the scarce words available as of yet from the book, Byrne’s arguments just may turn out to be meaningless hyperbole.
And of course that’s what the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign had to say about the upcoming book.
Campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said:
‘Gary Byrnes joins the ranks of Ed Klein and other “authors” in this latest in a long line of books attempting to cash in on the election cycle with their nonsense. It should be put in the fantasy section of the book store.’
As for Ed Klein, if you aren’t familiar, Salon had this to say about him:
‘Who is Ed Klein? Well, the Post describes him as being “perhaps best known for his series of bombshell books spreading rumors and innuendo, much of it discredited, about the Clintons.” That description is actually a bit too charitable – Ed Klein is a liar.’
It’s all in character for the present election cycle to see sometimes wild character insults thrown. Klein has worked with Trump, who in turn has made up some fantastical stories about Hillary Clinton, such as that she wants to “abolish the second amendment.”
It has gotten so bad that even the two “nice” Democratic candidates, Clinton and Bernie Sanders, have hurled allegations that their opponent is “unfit for the presidency,” just like Byrne said of Clinton. At least the Democrats sort of apologized.
This election has taken such a turn as the violent polarization of American politics has reached monumental levels. Hate flows like water, and the two leading candidates are ruthlessly hated by most of the supporters of their opponent. That’s why this election has become about personal issues instead of policy like never before.
