BREAKING: Donald Trump Declares If More People Had Guns, Orlando Shooting Wouldn’t Have Happened (QUOTES)

At the same time that the horrific mass shooting in Orlando, Florida has caused many politicians to push for stronger gun control laws, it has also caused others to make the argument that, were gun laws less restrictive, people at the Pulse nightclub would have been able to defend themselves and the effects could have been mitigated. Donald Trump is one of the people who has made such an argument, telling CNN this morning:

‘If you had some guns in that club the night that this took place, if you had guns on the other side, you wouldn’t have had the tragedy that you had.’

He continued:

‘If people in that room had guns, with the bullets flying in the opposite direction right at him, right at his head, you wouldn’t have had the same tragedy that you ended up having.’

Trump went on to share what he knows so far about those who were injured in the attack: “I hear the injured are so greatly injured.” He then launched into more of the same, arguing that the tragedy would not have occurred had there been guns in the club:

‘But if you had guns in that room, even if you had a number of people having it strapped to your ankle or strapped to their waist, where bullets could have flown in the other direction right at him, you wouldn’t have had the same kind of a tragedy.’

This is not the first offensive statement Trump has made in response to the attack in Orlando. Yesterday, he sent out several tweets, first making the situation all about himself, and second, finding room to criticize President Obama.

The first tweet reads:

And the second, attacking Obama, reads:

This also isn’t the first time Trump has made the call for more guns. After the attacks in Paris in November, CNN reports him saying at a rally,

‘When you look at Paris — you know the toughest gun laws in the world, Paris — nobody had guns but the bad guys. Nobody had guns. Nobody. They were just shooting them one by one and they they [security forces] broke in and had a big shootout and ultimately killed the terrorists.

You can say what you want, but if they had guns, if our people had guns, if they were allowed to carry — it would’ve been a much, much different situation.’
