On Saturday, Chelsea Clinton gave birth to her second child, a boy named Aidan Clinton Mezvinsky. In celebration, she sent out a tweet telling her Twitter followers the good news.
Apparently, she has more faith in humanity than is warranted, as numerous conservatives used this tweet as an opportunity to attack her. Why they felt the birth of a child was the right time to engage in low-brow political attacks is beyond us, but some people simply can’t put politics aside.

There’s so much ignorance contained in these tweets that we could probably devote an entire article to debunking each one, but we don’t have time for that. We’ll just go ahead and show you some, then show you how wrong they are.

– To bad Hillary aborted all Chelsea's brothers and sisters. The baby would have aunts and uncles to cherish the new child?

So let’s take a look at these. The one comparing Hillary Clinton to the devil is your standard ad-hominem that conservatives love to throw around. We suppose we technically can’t prove Chelsea’s mother isn’t the devil, and if we can’t disprove it, it must be true, right? Either that or conservatives are just insane.
The tweet claiming Chelsea has done nothing with her life and only gets by on her family name might be the worst of the bunch. Not only is it untrue, but it is also more than a bit hypocritical.
George W. Bush was a born millionaire who only got into Harvard because his father pulled some strings, and the current Republican nominee inherited his father’s real-estate business. If conservatives are suddenly going to make the argument that no one’s family should ever help them out, then they really need to find a new nominee. In fact, they should probably do that anyway.
The tweet concerning the abortions is simply absurd. Only conservatives could take a happy moment such as the birth of a baby and twist it into another argument about abortion.
All in all, this whole event is an example of the ugly side of politics. It’s petty and mean for no reason. We’re sure Chelsea and her husband won’t let the opinions of a few jerks ruin this special moment in their lives, but it’s rather messed up that this happened at all.
