A man went on a rampage late Monday through a German train, leaving at least 20 injured.
BBC reports that included among the wounded are 3 victims who are in critical condition. In addition, there are 14 victims in shock.
This story is rapidly developing, and a police spokesman reported that the police operation in the area is still ongoing.
As BBC also reports that the relevant section of train track has been shut down, saying, “The train line between Wurzburg-Heidingsfeld and Ochsenfurt has been closed.”
No identifying information has yet been released about the attacker, who was shot dead by police.
The Middle East based terror group the Islamic State, also known by the name ISIS, claimed responsibility for a terror attack of larger proportions last Thursday in Nice, France.
It remains to be seen what role, if any, radical Islamic terror groups played in this attack.
Twitter is just beginning to collect pieces of the story, under the search results page for “German ax attack.”
