President Obama was asked to give his opinions on Donald Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention, and as per the usual, our lovely Commander-in-Chief did not disappoint.
Donald Trump was his regular idiotic, hate-fueling self at the convention, and his over-eagerness to please his mainly white, middle-aged crowd gave any liberal who watched it secondhand embarrassment. The pathetic attempts did not fall deaf on keen ears, and even President Obama had a lot to say about the debacle that was the 2016 Republican National Convention.
President Obama talked about an issue that not many media outlets touched on. Donald Trump’s use of fear as a weapon against the citizens of this country is what has led him to overwhelming popularity in the South, where white people are basically scared of everything except for the pandemic of .
The President said this about Trump’s overacting:
“Some of the fears that were expressed throughout the week just don’t jibe with the facts…”
“The violent crime rate in America has been lower during my presidency than any time in the last three, four decades. Ad though it is true that we have seen an uptick in murders and violent crime in some cities this year, the fact of the matter is that the murder rate today, the violence rate, is far lower than it was when Ronald Reagan was president.”
…And just like that, President Obama puts Donald Trump in his place yet again.
