In light of the recent DNC email hack, Donald Trump held a press conference where he openly encouraged more hacks. The GOP nominee promised that the hackers would be “highly rewarded.”

‘I will tell you this — Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 e-mails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press. Let’s see if that happens. That’ll be next. Yes, sir…’

Trump’s statements have several people questioning whether he is fit to be president. One of those people is former CIA director Leon Panetta who told CNN that Trump’s loyalty was in question.

Panetta also went on to say that Trump’s statements were beyond the pale and grounds for concern.

‘You’ve got now a presidential candidate who is, in fact, asking the Russians to engage in american politics. I just – that that’s beyond the pale. there are a lot of concerns I have with his qualities of leadership or lack thereof and I think that statement only reflects the fact that he is truly not qualified to be president of the united states.’

It should be noted that Panetta is a Democrat and served under President Obama as the CIA director. However, Panetta isn’t the only member of the national security community to have concerns about Trump.

In May of this year, members of the Republican Party’s national security community penned an open letter warning about the dangers of a Trump presidency. The letter condemned the GOP nominee for, among other things, his lack of experience and defense of torture. It also warned of his close ties with dictators such as Vladimir Putin.

‘His admiration for foreign dictators such as Vladimir Putin is unacceptable for the leader of the world’s greatest democracy.’

In June of this year, Michael Hayden, who served under president George W. Bush, said that he had major concerns about Trump’s national security credentials going so far as to call Trump “destructive.”

‘I am one of those. What evidence I have of his thinking about foreign policy things suggests courses of action that I think would be destructive for our country, our allies and the world.’

Members of the national security community, on both sides of the aisle, are concerned about Trump’s competence and even his loyalty to the United State.
