The Vice President of the United States isn’t known to sugarcoat his remarks for anyone, and that, apparently, goes for Donald Trump as well. Joe Biden took to his Twitter account over the weekend to speak out about Purple Heart Day, a day that honors those who have sacrificed greatly to serve in the country’s military defense.
Donald Trump may be the owner of a military issued Purple Heart, but the way he came to possess that prestigious medal has caused quite an upheaval in his presidential campaign. Trump has gotten endless flack for accepting a Purple Heart from a lost soul who gifted it to him.
Former Lt. Col. Louis Dorfman handed the medal to Trump shortly before he took the stage at a recent rally. Trump accepted the medal, and went on stage to address the crowd:
“Something very nice just happened to me. A man came up to me and handed me his Purple Heart. I said to him, ‘Is that like the real one or is that a copy?’ And he said, ‘That’s my real Purple Heart. I have such confidence in you.’ I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier.”
Much easier indeed. Considering Trump has never spent a day in uniform, nor has he given his health or the life of a friend to protect the citizens of this nation. The seemingly next step for Trump was to hand the medal back to the veteran and thank him for his service. Trump, however, pocketed the medal of honor.
Biden, like the rest of the country, was disappointed by the actions of Trump. He posted this on his Twitter profile:
No one wants to earn a Purple Heart. But to those who did, you have America’s unending gratitude and admiration. Thank you. #PurpleHeartDay

Whether it’s flashing that heartbreaking smile or dropping the F-Bomb while wearing a microphone on camera, Vice President Biden isn’t afraid to tell it like it is, and that’s what the world loves about him. He can insult you without even saying your name.
