Remember how Rudy Giuliani spent the past decade and a half exploiting 9/11 as a way to further his political career? Yeah, so do we. But guess who doesn’t remember 9/11. That’s right, Giuliani.
At a Trump rally in Ohio, the former mayor of New York City claimed that there were no terrorist attacks on American soil prior the the election of Barrack Obama.
‘Under those 8 years, before Obama came along, we didn’t have any successful radical Islamic terrorist attack in the US. They all started when Clinton and Obama came into office.’
So we’re confused. Is Giuliani trying to rewrite history by saying that 9/11 never happened or is he simply saying it didn’t happen until President Obama was elected? Either way, it’s a stupid thing to say, especially considering that he’s built his career on performance in the aftermath of the 2001 terrorist attacks.
It’s also kind of odd that Giuliani made this argument at a Trump rally. After all, in one of the debates, Trump famously called out George Bush for allowing 9/11 to happen on his watch. It was one of the few moments of honestly in Trump’s entire campaign.
This isn’t the first time that the former mayor of New York city has acted like 9/11 never happened. In 2010, during an interview on “Good Morning America” he blasted President Obama for being weak on terrorism. He then went on to claim that there had been no domestic terrorist attacks under President Bush.
You would think Giuliani would have learned from that last time, but he clearly hasn’t. Luckily the internet is doing it’s best to make sure Giuliani never forgets his most recent mistake.
I guess "Never Forget" is negotiable depending on party affiliation.

I think it is official, Giuliani is crazier than Drumpf. https://t.co/RPH52MMH8V

I think a plane flew into #RudyGiuliani's head.

Rudi Giuliani forgetting about 9/11 is the 9/11 of never forgetting.

Then again maybe there’s a simple explanation for Giuliani’s memory lapse. Maybe he hit his head or maybe the MIB got to him. It’s either that or “America’s Mayor” is little more than opportunist who has built his career exploiting a tragedy.

Giuliani isn’t the only Trump surrogate getting mocked for comments regarding 9/11. Some are also bringing up an old tweet from Trump spokesperson Katrina Pierson. The tweet asks whether 9/11 was an inside job.
9/11 … An inside job?

The Trump camp really needs to get on message. Their nominee has made it clear that he holds Bush responsible for 9/11 so why can’t his surrogates stay on point? Perhaps this is just more evidence of Trump’s poor management.
