Anderson Cooper really let Hillary Clinton have it tonight when she called in for a phone interview. Cooper hit all the questions that even liberals have been asking regarding Hillary’s lack of communication when it comes to disclosing her medical status to the American public.
Cooper didn’t hold back as he opened up his arsenal of questions. After the Matt Lauer scandal in which he was accused of letting Trump off easy in an interview, I doubt Cooper wanted to take any chances of running into the same kind of criticism.
He asked Hillary what exactly happened when she was seen on video stumbling into a vehicle, and how many times she had become dehydrated to the point of fainting before it was caught on video yesterday. Hillary said:
“You know, it is something that has occurred a few times over the course of my life, and I’m aware of it, and usually can avoid it,” she said. “What happened yesterday was that I just was incredibly committed to being at the memorial — as a senator on 9/11, this is incredibly personal to me.”
Hillary responded that this was not a frequent event in her life, and that the air conditioned vehicle greatly assisted her physical condition. That’s when Cooper took it even further, pressing Clinton to answer the questions that everyone has been asking. Why didn’t Clinton release the diagnosis when it was given, and why did it take so long to get an official statement from her camp regarding the incident?
After a quick, “Oh my goodness, Anderson,” Clinton began to talk about how much less transparent Donald Trump has been regarding all of his records. She said this about Trump:
“It’s really past time for him to be held to the same standards, not just as me, but as anybody else who has sought this job.”
This doesn’t really help us trust you, Hillary. We just want a clear answer.
