The Sunday morning incident when Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton collapse at a memorial ceremony for the victims of 9/11 has already turned into what one Clinton aide called a “self-inflicted worst f***ing nightmare,” with Ben Carson now calling for the presidential contender to release the results of a specialized MRI.
Carson suggests that the MRI may reveal information about Clinton’s health which may weigh into American voters’ decision come November, saying, as reported by Buzzfeed:
‘It is imperative that both major candidates for the highest office in the land immediately release detailed recent medical records to allow the people a fair opportunity to assess their physical fitness for office.’
Curiously, Carson also calls on Republican presidential nominee — and former Republican presidential primary opponent of Carson’s — Donald Trump to “immediately release detailed recent medical records,” not only naming Clinton.
Clinton, however, is the one now facing the heat on the campaign trail over her health and any health issue which she may be hiding. After the Sunday morning episode, Clinton’s physician Dr. Lisa Bardack announced that the presidential contender was diagnosed with pneumonia last Friday.
The length of time that the Clinton campaign completely hid the diagnosis from the public has caused many to seriously question the integrity of the Clinton campaign in dealing with the presidential candidate’s health.
Right wing opponents of Clinton have already specified their months-old criticism of Clinton’s health since Sunday’s startling episode.
Carson, for example, went into detail about Clinton’s medical history, using it to question whether or not she is medically fit to serve as president of the United States. Coupling these kinds of assertions with Clinton’s slipping lead in both polls and electoral college models is terrible news for the Clinton campaign.
The retired neurosurgeon and former presidential candidate said of Clinton:
‘In the case of Hillary Clinton, because she has had a brain injury in the past and there is a question of venous sinus thrombosis, the result of a recent specialized MRI would be very helpful. The stakes are too high for us to blindly elect someone to the presidency of the United States when we have the possibility of examining real evidence upon which to make a decision.’
Clinton suffered a concussion back in 2012 at the conclusion of her tenure as Secretary of State after she collapsed and fell while reportedly suffering from a stomach virus. At that time, she took 6 months to fully recover from her injuries, and some, like Carson, have long thought that the then-Secretary of State suffered “brain damage.”
There is also a theory being floated that Clinton has Parkinson’s Disease, with the head of the Veterans for Trump group Daniel Tamburello suggesting such based off his own father’s experience with the disease.
Considering all of the turmoil, the Democratic National Committee is reportedly mulling over choosing a new nominee to replace Clinton.
Carson has long been an avid backer of the Trump campaign, having at one point served to lead Trump’s efforts to select a running mate. His second night address to July’s Republican National Convention saw him claim that Clinton was somehow “Satanic,” continuing with the strangely religious tone of his presidential campaign.
