Hillary Clinton shot some barbed zingers towards Donald Trump and his tax returns at her rally in Toledo, Ohio on Monday.
‘Trump’s campaign is bragging that not paying taxes makes him a genius. What kind of genius loses $1 billion in a single year?’
Alas, you can’t shame someone who’s incapable of feeling shame. Reuters reports Donald Trump doubled down on how clever that tax move was at a rally in Pueblo, Colorado.
‘As a businessman and real estate developer, I have legally used the tax laws to my benefit, and to the benefit of my company, my investors, and my employees.’
As his supporters loudly cheered at the thought of him screwing his workers, his contractors, and U.S. taxpayers like them, Mein Trumpf congratulated himself some more.
‘I mean, honestly, I have brilliantly used those laws.’
Reuters adds this was the first time Donald Trump said much about his taxes since that report from New York Times came out.
‘It was Trump’s first extended comments since a New York Times report said he had claimed a $916 million loss on his 1995 tax returns, which experts said might have allowed him to avoid paying federal income taxes for 18 years.’
And then, Donald Trump bragged about how he exploited a tax system that allows rich people to give the shaft to their fellow Americans.
‘I was able to use the tax laws of this country and my business acumen to dig out of the real estate mess … when few others were able to do what I did.’

That evening, Clinton followed up by tweeting a video lambasting Donald Trump for (a) Not being the brilliant businessman he says he is; (b) Not paying his fair share in Federal income taxes; and (c) Getting rich at U.S. taxpayers’ expense.
Three pages of Trump's tax returns confirm he's a business failure who's gotten rich at your expense. Imagine what he’s hiding in the rest. pic.twitter.com/E3Wt3KRleN
