Donald Trump has managed to alienate women all across the Republican Party and beyond. One of the strongest Republican women is former secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice. She has just condemned the GOP’s presidential candidate. Not only that, she is calling for his withdrawal from the race.
Rice worked in the George W. Bush administration, a formidable power who is coming down on Trump, hard. In a Facebook post, she said:
‘Enough! Donald Trump should not be President. He should withdraw.’
Like many former members of the Bush administration, Rice decided against attending Trump’s 2016 Republican National Convention (RNC). Dr. Rice wrote a statement to bring attention to her wish that Trump could be replaced by:
‘Someone who has the dignity and stature to run for the highest office in the greatest democracy on earth.’
Rice has made it clear that she is not endorsing Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
Rice joined a large and continually expanding list of Republicans who are moving away from Trump, according to MSNBC: Utah Rep. Mia Love, Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, Arizona’s Sen. John McCain, South Dakota’s Sen. John Thune, and New Hampshire’s former senator, Kelly Ayotte.
Others from outside Capitol Hill include former GOP presidential candidate, Carly Fiorina, and conservative radio host and MSNBC advisor, Hugh Hewitt.
During the mass escape of Republicans from any Trump circle, the Clinton crew has been courting potential Republican supporters.
Trump supporters broke into tears as he came out of Trump Tower. Those die-hard fans may not change their opinion about the candidate. Former New York mayor and top Trump advisor, Rudy Giuliani, left Trump Tower, where he stopped to respond to a few questions:
‘There is nothing to cause him to drop out.’
In spite of all the Republicans urging Trump to leave, he insists on continuing with his presidential run. Others have asked him to abandon the Republican ticket, but Trump told the Wall Street Journal Saturday:
‘I never, ever give up.’
