“We’re not a threat to anybody,” declared one of the armed Trump supporters who stalked Democratic candidate Jane Dittmar’s office in Palmyra, Va for nearly 12 hours. “The only threat is ignorance, and ignorance will breed fear,” he added without a trace of irony.
Daniel Parks, one of two armed Trump supporters who could care less that Donald Trump is an alleged unregistered sex offender, told CBS 19 he just wants to help like-minded folks “come out of the closet.”
‘I’m just trying to provide a voice for someone who might be a closet supporter of Trump. Other people who are a little worried to speak out because of possible persecution.’
But Jane Dittmar, who’s running for Congress, and her volunteers feel it’s not these young, white males who need to feel worried about “possible persecution.” After all, no one’s hovering around their offices, residences, or pickup trucks the way Donald Trump hovered over Hillary Clinton like an abusive partner or creepy stalker during the second not-so-presidential debate.
Su Wolff, a Fluvanna County resident and volunteer for Jane Dittmar’s campaign, found the presence of these two armed Trump supporters extremely creepy to say the least.
‘If he wants to support his candidate that’s fine, but don’t come here and stare into the office all day.’
Oh, and then the two young men kind of slyly turned sideways to expose their
turgid, sheathed members, erm, holstered guns.
‘He turned sideways to be sure that we would see that he has an open carry gun, which is legal, and is fine, but it’s intimidating.’
Of course, the women being menaced by the armed Trump supporters loitering outside of Jane Dittmar’s office for nearly 12 hours can’t call the police. Open carry’s perfectly legal in the state of Virginia. That’s right. Anyone who wants to bully women or threaten Mein Trumpf’s political opposition like Adolf Hitler’s gang of Brownshirts, can claim he’s exercising his “Second Amendment rights.” Never mind that the Second Amendment itself was originally designed by our Southern founding fathers to create a band of armed vigilantes to intimidate and chase down would-be escaped slaves. These “well-organized militias” aren’t just for blacks anymore.
Meanwhile, the armed Trump supporters claim they’re standing their ground.
‘He might be pulling out, but we’re not pulling out, and I’m going to stand my ground and speak out for what I believe in.’
Jane Dittmar is one of the Democratic candidates for the U.S. Congress being backed by Daily Kos, a site for liberal activists.
