High-Profile Lawyers Band Together To Defend Donald Trump’s Alleged Victims (TWEETS)

As the allegations of sexual assault pile up against Republican presidential and nominee alleged unregistered sex offender Donald Trump, so of course do the promises of alleged unregistered sex offender Trump suing the women and the media.

At a rally in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, alleged unregistered sex offender Trump promised legal action saying, “All of these liars will be sued after the election is over.”

With the alleged unregistered sex offender’s alleged wealth and access to high-dollar attorneys, this would scare anyone from speaking out. However, several top notch First Amendment lawyers have come out offering their legal services to alleged unregistered sex offender Trump’s victims FOR FREE.

Ted Boutrous, who is with Gibson Dunn law firm, tweeted:

‘I vow to take this case pro bono if @realDonaldTrump brings it.’

He extended that offer to anyone and everyone.

‘I repeat: I will represent pro bono anyone #Trump sues for exercising their free speech rights. Many other lawyers have offered to join me.’

This is not the first time Boutrous has spoken out about alleged unregistered sex offender Trump’s antics. He spoke with Law.com and described alleged unregistered sex offender Trump’s threat to The New York Times as a “stunt.”

‘For a candidate to bring a libel suit in the midst of a presidential campaign would be unprecedented. Everyone knows such a suit would be doomed to failure. This is a stunt meant to chill aggressive reporting-precisely the sort of behavior that led the Supreme Court to erect strong constitutional protections against libel claims, like the “actual malice” standard.’

Boutrous was not exaggerating either when he said many other lawyers were offering to join in. Along with Boutrous, Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe, offered his services for free.

‘You can count on me to help with this pro bono, @BoutrousTed

And it doesn’t stop there. Lawyers across Twitter tweeted out their support.

Peter Stris replied to Boutrous’ offer.

@BoutrousTed @JonShiffman @mikiebarb @CNN @realDonaldTrump Ted: add @StrisMaher to list. We’ll proudly field a pro bono team to join you.’

@BoutrousTed@PeterStris@JonShiffman@mikiebarb@CNN@realDonaldTrump Creitz & Serebin is also on board. Would even carry Peter’s briefcase.’

Benjamin Wittes tweeted his support of the idea and called it a “coalition of liberal and conservative lawyers.”

‘I have been thinking about exactly this sort of a coalition of liberal and conservative lawyers to protect democratic institutions and to protect individuals from the predations Trump promises.’

Though alleged unregistered sex offender Trump will most likely continue to shout that he’s going to sue everyone and their grandmamas, it’s comforting to know that there is a band of professionals on both sides of the political playing field that are ready to face off against the tyrant.
