As one might expect, Michele Bachmann isn’t the biggest Hillary Clinton fan. In fact, she’s so dead-set on painting the Democrat’s nominee for president as the anti-Christ that she’s willing to make up some outrageous “facts” to prove her point. Bachmann seems to think that if the former secretary of state is elected to the highest office in the country, this will be the “last election.” She told David Brody at the Christian Broadcasting Network:
I don’t want to be melodramatic, but I do want to be truthful. I believe without a shadow of a doubt this is the last election. This is it. This is the last election.’
But Bachmann isn’t talking about some crazy scenario where Clinton makes herself into a dictator or the earth opens up to drag the entire country down to hell. (Although you’d be forgiven for thinking that, seeing as we’re talking about Michele Bachmann) She means that 2016 is the last chance Republicans will get to have one of their own in office. And her conspiracy theory about it will blow your mind.
The crux of Bachmann’s tinfoil-hat-wearing argument is that the official Department of Homeland Security figure for the number of illegal immigrants in this country, is wrong. While the DHS estimates that around 11.4 million illegal immigrants live in the U.S., “Crazypants” Bachmann echoes the already thoroughly debunked myth that the number is actually around 30 to 40 million.
According to Bachmann, Clinton’s plan is to grant citizenship to every single one of these illegal immigrants, thereby ensuring till the end of time that no Republican will ever hold office again.
After laying out Hillary Clinton’s plan for world domination through the diabolical modus operandi of not persecuting poor people, Bachmann then launched into her regular pattern of end-times Bible predictions.
‘If you look at the book of Genesis, you don’t even have to get beyond chapter 3 to see God gives us life. The first thing he gives mankind is life. What does man choose? Death. We choose rebellion and death. You go from Genesis all through the Bible to the book of Revelation; man stupidly makes the same decision over and over again by rejecting life and choosing death. What I’m telling you is that’s what we’re looking at now in this country.’
Bachmann is probably right that the Republicans are in dire straits when it comes to their status as a significant power in the U.S., but she’s wrong about the reason. Americans are just getting sick of the GOP elevating fearmongers, demagogues, racists, and religious zealots to their highest offices.
