Remember that hilarious SNL sketch when Republicans claimed they’d found more Hillary Clinton emails…but they turned out to be Anthony Weiner’s? Oh, wait. That didn’t come from Saturday Night Live, that was Friday’s sorry excuse for “news.” Seriously, not even a comedy writer could possibly make this up.
Anothony Weiner, of course, is the soon-to-be former husband of top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin who just can’t stop sexting women and (allegedly!) an underage teenage girl.
So of course, the New York Post had a field day and came up with another one of their epic newspaper covers for Saturday. “Dickileaks: FBI Reopens E-mail Case,” the lead-in quips. Then comes the coupe de grâce: “STROKING GUN” followed by “Weiner sext probe found dirt on Hill.”
In his tweet, the CNN KFILE‘s Andrew Kaczynski wryly adds, “You could fill a museum with Anthony Weiner NY Post covers.” According to the New York Post:
‘The feds began to investigate Weiner, 52, after he sent a slew of sexual messages and shirtless selfies to a 15-year-old North Carolina girl.’
Wait, though. The plot sickens. Anthony Weiner also (allegedly!) shared some porno videos and his “rape fantasies” with the poor girl and asked her to take off her clothes and masturbate via Skype.
How we got from Donald Trump’s pussy grabbing to Anthony Weiner’s sexting?
It all started Friday morning when FBI Director James Comey sent that infamous letter out to eight chairmen of various committees in Congress. In vague language, Comey’s letter announced that “in connection with an unrelated case” [italics ours], more emails were discovered that “appear to be pertinent” to the FBI’s closed investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails.

Top Republicans and other Hillary haters howled with glee and jumped on the bizarre non-story, claiming the FBI had re-opened the investigation.

Welcome to the Clinton era. One ethical problem after another. FBI will re-open investigation into Hillary https://t.co/BFiVZg8AzK

After all of this, the entire thing debunked within three hours. For starters, as CNN pointed out, the emails are “not related” to Wikileaks or the Clinton Foundation, the GOP’s favorite go-tos. In fact, there were only three emails and they weren’t even on Hillary Clinton’s server. They were on a “different device” in relation to the FBI’s investigation of the latest Anthony Weiner sexting scandal.

As it turns out, the emails were found on a laptop Huma Abedin and Anthony Weiner once shared together.
When asked for a response, Hillary Clinton told reporters she wants the full facts because, at this point, “we don’t know what to believe.”

As for FBI Director James Comey, why did he make such an irresponsible announcement?
FBI NEVER releases info before they have facts
James Comey doing so today means he's unqualified for the job he has

Twitter abounds with theories. Maybe Comey has it in for Hillary Clinton — he is a Republican, after all.

Or, it could be that Donald Trump is #WINNING! and James Comey hopes to keep his job. Trumpkins can always dream, can’t they?

Some chalk Comey’s letter up to basic incompetence.
Maybe this is a good thing, but James Comey has the political sense of a tack hammer.

Perhaps he misses all the attention he used to get and feels lonely and irrelevant now…

Guess what? It looks like things are about to get a lot worse for James Comey. Announcing the three Hillary Clinton-related emails found on Anthony Weiner’s, erm, hard drive was highly irresponsible and possibly illegal.

Hopefully, both James Comey and Anthony Weiner have learned a valuable lesson: don’t mess with #NastyWomen or you’ll get thrown under the bus.
