It was recently announced that Donald Trump’s administration will not pursue any charges against Hillary Clinton. Trump’s decision came as a reassurance to many that the president-elect would abandon some of his more outrageous campaign promises.
However, Trump’s most fervent supporters saw this as a betrayal of the movement that propelled him to power. The alt-right website, Breitbart, freaked out and published a scathing article entitled “Broken Promise: Trump ‘Doesn’t Wish To Pursue’ Clinton Email Charges.”
The site has since removed the words “Broken Promise” from their headline, but the site’s commenters are not so easily swayed. Numerous alt-righters took to the internet to voice their displeasure of Trump’s “betrayal.”
Maybe a Democrat from the 1850s, but Trump certainly has nothing in common with the modern incarnation of the party despite what this poster thinks.
Wait, you mean the man with a documented history of lies is a liar? Well, duh, alt-right. Welcome to 2016. The rest of us have been screaming that Trump was a liar since he began his campaign.
We simply have to ask, did they actually think Trump was going to go through with his promise to “lock her up?” It was clear from the beginning that those promises were nothing more than campaign rhetoric.
We’ve always suspected that a lot of Trump’s support came from people who held an unreasonable hatred of the Clintons. It’s nice to see this confirmed. Of course, now that Trump has pardoned the object of their scorn, we have to wonder how long he’ll retain their favor. This move will probably cost him some votes in 2020.
Well, at least these guys are slowly waking up to the reality that they’ve been conned.
They could have saved themselves a lot of grief if they’d simply done their research beforehand. Trump’s history as a con artist and liar are well-documented. His bid for the White House was simply the greatest con of all. Unfortunately thanks to these people, we all have to suffer under Trump’s incompetent and likely racist reign.
