A potential Trump cabinet pick has just offered up his two cents about the DNC hacks that went on throughout the election season, and, basically, he needs to turn right around and go back to whatever hole he crawled out of.
John Bolton, who, as mentioned, is a potential eventual pick for Trump’s Secretary of State, besides having served in the past as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, suggested while appearing Sunday on Fox News that the election season hacks of the DNC may have been a “false flag” operation by the Obama Administration intended to frame Russia.
He told host Eric Shawn:
‘It is not at all clear to me, just viewing this from the outside, that this hacking into the DNC and the RNC was not a false flag operation.’
Shawn, as The Hill reports, pressed Bolton on whether or not his usage of the term “false flag” meant that he was implicitly blaming interests such as the Obama Administration for the hacks.
Bolton responded, saying:
‘We just don’t know. But I believe that intelligence has been politicized in the Obama administration to a very significant degree.’
First of all, the only “politicization of intelligence” going on is in Trump’s favor. After all, who was it that broke federal protocol to make a public statement days before the election that amounted to little more than an elaborate dig on Hillary Clinton? That’s right — FBI Director James Comey.
Furthermore, yes, you read the above correctly. A man who is close to the powers preparing to occupy the White House come January went on national television and floated a re-vomited up version of 9/11 trutherism as an actual, legitimate thought.
He basically claimed that, not only is attempting to hold Russia accountable for the DNC hacks out of line, but the real responsibility lies with the American government or some related interest.
At a later point in the broadcast he stated:
‘We would want to know who else might want to influence the election and why they would leave fingerprints that point to the Russians. That’s why I say until we know more about how the intelligence community came to this conclusion we don’t know whether it is Russian inspired or a false flag.’
Bolton’s words are conspiracy theory 101, and yet, he remains close to the incoming presidential administration, as do others who float similar conspiracy theories, like Michael Flynn.
