Tucker Carlson, darling of Fox News, recently received his very own prime television show appropriately named Tucker Carlson Tonight. The show is described by Fox News as bringing “spirited debate and powerful reporting on the issues you care about each weeknight at 7 pm.” Tucker himself describes his show nightly as “the show that is the sworn enemy of lying, pomposity, smugness, and groupthink.” Indeed, Carlson received a spirited debate from Newsweek reporter, Kurt Eichenwald, last night, and he may have possibly been owned by Eichenwald.

Carlson began the interview asking Eichenwald if he felt like he was practicing real journalism. Eichenwald laughed heartily and responded:

‘When did you stop beating your wife? What are you talking about?’

Carlson briefly summarized several of Eichenwald’s tweets where he criticized conservatives and criticized President-elect Donald Trump. Eichenwald interrupted Carlson saying:

‘Hold on here, Tucker. One of the things I want to make sure of… you have a real habit of taking a lot of things out of context. So, if we’re going to talk about a tweet, let’s talk about a tweet. Read me what it says, and we can talk about it.’

He then asked Carlson to read him one tweet that bothered him most. When Tucker tried to crawfish out of that, Eichenwald stopped him and possibly laid the smackdown on Carlson.

‘Here. You know what? Let’s play the game another way. I spent a little while just sort of doing some research on you. This is what I came up with, “Tucker Carlson falsehoods.”‘

Eichenwald literally picked up a folder labeled “Tucker Carlson Falsehoods.” To Carlson’s credit, he laughed congenially. Then Carlson brought up a statement by Eichenwald in which he tweeted:

‘I believe Trump was institutionalized in a mental hospital for a nervous breakdown in 1990, which is why he won’t release medical records.’

Big accusation. Eichenwald went on to explain his reasoning:

‘I’ve been covering Donald Trump. I started writing about him in the late 1980s. At that time, I obtained his medical records from his real doctor… It showed that in 1982 he was given a very heavy prescription for an amphetamine-derivative, and he remained on that prescription for many years. I knew some people inside the Trump Organization, they were deeply concerned about his condition, That he was getting reckless, He was getting impulsive, That he wasn’t sleeping, that he was speaking with these sort of great variations of grandeur that he could do anything. And in 1990, because he did so many deals that were reckless, his whole empire was going into bankruptcy, and he was going through a divorce, and I was told that there was, now let me say, I’m talking about the reporting process, so I’m saying “Here is what I was told.”‘

They went on to interrupt each other some more. Then Eichenwald continued:

‘So, in 1990, I was told that there was essentially a breakdown. I’m giving reporting process. Clearly, I didn’t print it. I also thought Trump was a private individual, and it didn’t matter, and that this was as a result of the amphetamine-derivatives he was taking.’

Carlson continued to interrupt Eichenwald, urging him to simply answer the question if Trump was in a mental institution or not. Eichenwald simply said, “Tucker, if you don’t like the answer, don’t have guests. But I would really like to answer your question.”

They continued to interrupt each other even more until Eichenwald pulled out his “Tucker Carlson Falsehood” binder (he has a binder full of falsehoods) again. The rest of the interview was a series of interruptions, a story that was never really finished, and no real answer as to whether Trump was or was not in a mental institution (the world will never know). One site, Fox Nation, is currently reporting Carlson as destroying Eichenwald.

Eichenwald has since went on Twitter and posted several tweets:

‘Carlson accused Dem Senator of hiring prostitutes. “Source” admits she was paid to lie. FBI concludes story false. Tucker never corrects.’

‘Sigh. I can’t find what I wrote down. But he said the ppl who gather and analyze intel at great sacrifice deserve to be honored, not…’

‘…demeaned and insulted. Now me: Tucker has repeatedly demeaned the work of intel agencies on Russia because it doesnt fit his narrative…’

‘…right now, are ppl in Russia putting themselves at risk so they can gather intel that Tucker sneers at. Will u spit on our troops next?’
