A New Mexico convenience store’s controversial racist signs has set the Twitter train in motion. Not only does the owner insult Muslims, he insists that President Barack Obama is a Muslim. The signs he decorates his windows with are bad enough…Then there are the signs he sells.

According to KOB4 out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, former employee Marlon McWilliams said:

‘It’s been here a long time…If you go in there and you offend him, you can’t go in there no more. He turns lots of people away.’

When one woman saw the store, she was appalled. Vivian said:

‘Wow, is the owner of Mayhill convenience store even being investigated?’

The woman showed another one of the signs on her Twitter page, “Kill Obama Care.”

Lincoln National Forest surrounds the little unincorporated town of Mayhill, the site of the store. The burg is located in the Sacramento Mountains of southern New Mexico, where the infamous Billy the Kid and his gang once rode.

The majority of people do not notice that the convenience store’s windows are filled with signs that are offensive and racist. But once they pull into the shop’s parking spaces, the messages of hate flood their vision.

Although the former employee McWilliams moved on years ago, he said that similar signs have always been there:

‘They weren’t the same ones, but they were similar.’

Although the owner makes President and Mrs. Obama the focus of his hateful messages now, he has long targeted President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. McWilliams said:

‘He sells those signs to people who come through and stop and read them.’

McWilliams said that he avoids the convenience store. How many other people follow suit is unknown. The former employee said:

‘They’re offensive to me from time to time, but you know that’s my opinion. That’s the way I feel.’

But there is little that McWilliams and patrons of the store can do. One customer Jacob Gutierrez said:

‘Everybody has their own beliefs.’

The store is currently for sale at the price of $359,000, but McWilliams thinks the price is far too high. He hopes that it sells soon:

‘I wish somebody would buy it. I really do, because it would be a great asset for somebody to be there to run it. Because that’s the only place you can go to get milk and bread.’

Of course, store owners across the country have used their businesses to broadcast messages of hatred. In Hawaii, a man posted a similar message.

The owner of the store could not be reached for comment.
