Sometimes it seems like Trump is either determined to start a war or so stupid that accidentally sparking a war is inevitable.
The president-elect just launched into a truly bizarre late night Twitter tirade, attacking China for what feels like the twentieth time.
Trump wrote Monday evening on Twitter, “China has been taking out massive amounts of money & wealth from the U.S. in totally one-sided trade, but won’t help with North Korea. Nice!”

First of all, the way Trump ends his tweet — with “Nice!” — is a truly pathetic display of the dangerously childish level on which he generally operates. That’s just not the way you do things. We’re adults.
Second of all, Trump is yet again repeating the same incendiary talking points against China, talking points that are not exactly backed up by reality.
The reason that the trade relationship between the U.S. and China seems so “one-sided” is because of people like Trump who believe that any issues with the United States couldn’t possibly be our own fault and responsibility to deal with.
As journalist Ken Klippenstein put it in replies to Trump’s tweet, responding to the president-elect’s latest claims against China:
‘No, that’d be corporations that are “taking out massive amounts of money & wealth”–you know, like yours. Mega-corporations hide their profits in offshore tax havens, forcing ordinary taxpayers to pick up the tab.’
Trump’s philosophy is “let’s blame everybody else.” Thus, instead of accepting his responsibility for dealing with the nuclear threat from North Korea, Trump, in his latest Twitter statement, basically said “well China’s not helping!”
