Megyn Kelly, one of Fox News‘ more level-headed journalists, will be starting 2017 off by making a major career change.
On Tuesday, NBC News announced that they’d be welcoming Kelly to their networks as an anchor of a daily news program and a prime time news show slotted for Sunday evenings.
The New York Times details the move in an article published Tuesday, Megyn Kelly Is Leaving Fox News For NBC, which notes that Kelly will be leaving Fox as the second-most watched host in the cable news network’s history – after Bill O’Reilly.
When Kelly took to Facebook to break the news to her loyal fans, however, some of them weren’t too pleased to hear about the move from Fox to NBC.
‘Over a dozen years ago I started at Fox News in a job that would change my life. Now, I have decided to end my time at FNC, incredibly enriched for the experiences I’ve had. I have agreed to join NBC News, where I will be launching a new daytime show Monday through Friday, along with a Sunday evening news magazine program. I will also participate in NBC’s breaking news coverage and its political and special events coverage.’
Eagerly sharing her excitement for the new challenge ahead, Kelly added:
‘While I will greatly miss my colleagues at Fox, I am delighted to be joining the NBC News family and taking on a new challenge.’
Here are some of the most outrageous comments on Kelly’s post after Fox News viewers caught wind of the news:
Some viewers were happy for Kelly, however, and welcomed the change to a more reputable news outlet:
Kelly’s last day on her show The Kelly File will be Friday, January 6th.
