GOP Rep Runs Tragic Obamacare Twitter Poll, Internet Responds Hilariously (TWEETS)

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) has been an outspoken critic of President Obama and the Affordable Care Act (ACA). In fact, she has fiercely supported the same concept of “fixing” the healthcare problem that Trump echoed on the campaign trail, which is expanding the market for healthcare by allowing consumers to purchase policies across state lines.

On Blackburn’s website, the following is noted:

‘Marsha understands that the rising cost of health care coverage is unsustainable. She also knows that Obamacare has left too many Americans without the care they need at a price they can afford…To that end, Marsha has reintroduced her legislation…that would repeal Obamacare and allow Americans to shop for health care insurance across state lines, allowing insurance companies to compete for your business.’

There’s just one small problem with that proposal. It won’t work to lower healthcare costs, and for those who cannot afford private insurance, they would revert back to being uninsured once again. In addition to that falsehood, her website promises her supporters that she will remain “vigilant to prevent the current administration from robbing Medicare to pay for Obamacare.” Obamacare has not “robbed” Medicare, either, but it’s rare to see a GOP politician giving their supporters the truth when it comes to the ACA.

Nevertheless, Blackburn decided to run a Twitter poll to prove that her supporters are wildly opposed to the Affordable Care Act. The results of that poll were surely not what Blackburn expected.

A full 84 percent of those who took Blackburn’s poll let the congresswoman know in no uncertain terms that they do not want to see the ACA repealed, but even better were the comments on the poll.

Why are the GOP politicians not listening to the people? For that matter, why do these politicians keep getting elected?
