JUST IN: Trump Administration Sees First Major Resignation Due To Infighting (DETAILS)

With President-elect’s apparent siding with Julian Assange, rather than his own intelligence experts, several in the intelligence community are, to say the least, feeling disparaged. Despite the near confirmation that Russia did indeed wage cyber attacks against the US with Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, saying he was highly confident with that assumption, the president-elect has still expressed his own doubts about the findings. Because of this, some are turning tail and running including his own transition team advisers.

ABC News has confirmed that former CIA Director James Woolsey has resigned from Trump’s transition team earlier saying:

‘Effective immediately, Ambassador Woolsey is no longer a Senior Advisor to President-Elect Trump or the Transition. He wishes the President-Elect and his Administration great success in their time in office.’

Woolsey, who served as CIA director during the Clinton Administration, also appeared on CNN’s Out Front and spoke about his resignation. When asked about the situation, he said:

Well, I didn’t want to fly under false colors. I’ve been an adviser and felt that I was making a contribution, and I strongly support Mr. Trump for president, did since early September, and I wish him well. But I’m not really functioning as an adviser anymore.’

Washington Post’s Philip Rucker tweeted the reasoning for Woolsey’s resignation was he was cut out of intelligence meetings with Trump and his national security adviser, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

Woolsey recently made some eyebrow-raising statements regarding Trump on CNN saying, “There’s a possibility that he is [playing us] a little bit.”

So, it’s reasonable to believe that Woolsey’s comments ruffled the easily ruffled orange feathers of Trump, especially since it appears Trump is actually wrong in regards to the Russian hackings. Trump’s aides have yet to respond. However, Trump went on a Twitter rant rambling in a series of tweets:

‘The Democratic National Committee would not allow the FBI to study or see its computer info after it was supposedly hacked by Russia…… So how and why are they so sure about hacking if they never even requested an examination of the computer servers? What is going on?’
