When Sarah Palin speaks, the world is usually both amused and disgusted at the same time. Her latest Facebook post, however, is both perplexing and rather frightening.
There is so much to pick apart in that post, but we’ll start with this one.
‘For one, when PE-Trump takes on corrupt lying lapdog media it is vindication and validation for those without a microphone who’ve been shot by reporters engaged in politics of personal destruction.’
Apparently, journalists are so terrible that they shoot people now.
Actually, journalists risk their very lives in order to keep the world informed. In 2016 alone, 76 journalists were murdered while doing their jobs. However, since journalists also report on the idiotic things that Sarah Palin actually said while and since campaigning for a position that sits a heartbeat away from the highest office in the land, they’re also evil and “bad characters.”
‘HOPE in this arena soars upon seeing a fearless leader take on injustice.’
Her idea that Trump brings “hope” in the wake of attacking the news media, delegitmizing trusted news sources while legitimizing sources like the racist, white nationalist Breitbart, isn’t laughable, either. It’s disheartening and disgusting.
“Injustice” isn’t about a reporter telling the country, and the world, the things a politician actually says or does. Injustice happens when people aren’t treated fairly because of things they cannot change, such as the color of their skin, the person that they love, or the economic circumstances in which they’re born.
Don’t tell that to Sarah Palin, though. She’s the biggest victim of injustice there is. Why? Because some people don’t like her after journalists printed her actual statements. Poor Sarah.
Far more frightening than an out-of-touch, irrelevant former vice presidential candidate spreading ignorance to her followers, though, is the idea that she may become more than a former vice presidential candidate.
‘And stay tuned for the next step in finally shooing away the pesky numbskulls in what was once “mainstream” media. I’m going to do my part. I’ll soon announce the most helpful, satisfying, exciting leap YOU can take with me as we help build America’s future together.’
Is Trump appointing another unqualified right-wing nut job to a cabinet position? Apparently, we’ll find out “soon.”
