Anyone who speaks out against Trump shall feel his wrath – or at least that’s how it seems lately.

In an early morning Twitter tirade, the President-elect had yet another meltdown for the entire world to see. This time, his rage was directed at Congressman John Lewis who spoke to NBC’s Meet the Press on Friday, where he claimed Trump isn’t a “legitimate president” due to Russian involvement in influencing the results of the presidential election.

Lewis told NBC:

‘I believe in forgiveness. I believe in trying to work with people. It will be hard. It’s going to be very difficult. I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president. I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected. And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton.’

Of course, once Trump heard about Lewis’ comments, he took to Twitter to slam the Congressman, tweeting:

‘Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!’

On Saturday, GOP Senator Ben Sasse took to Twitter to defend Lewis, condemning Trump for his awful comments.

‘John Lewis and his “talk” have changed the world.’

So far, Sasse has been the only Republican to speak out against Trump for his shameful comments.

Lewis is regarded as a civil rights icon, due in part to his leadership as chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee in the 1960s. His activism led to his frequent arrests and violence from police officers and he was even involved in “Bloody Sunday” in Selma, Atlanta, in 1965.

Of course, the President-elect lacks any and all kinds of respect and lashes out at anyone who dares to oppose him. His comments are particularly disgusting, given the fact that Lewis fought for the rights of many African-American citizens, and even risked his own life to do so. As a wealthy white man speaking from a position of the utmost privilege, Trump should be thoroughly ashamed of himself.
