On Saturday President-elect Donald Trump once again felt the need to criticize Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) insinuating that the congressman ignores inner-city crime.
It seems that for all of the petty, downright catty things that seem to come out of Donald Trump’s mouth he absolutely cannot tolerate, or not publicly react to even the slightest bit of critique from others. The former reality star chose to run for president and yet now that he’s been elected his impulsive, thin-skinned demeanor is still as present as it’s ever been.
On Saturday night, just two days away from Martin Luther King Day, Donald Trump decided to take another jab at the Georgia congressman, saying:
Congressman John Lewis should finally focus on the burning and crime infested inner-cities of the U.S. I can use all the help I can get!

‘Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!’
All of this furious Tweeting by the man who will be sworn in as president next week was in response to John Lewis’s comments to MSNBC, stating that he did not believe Donald Trump to be a “legitimate” president because of the Russian election hacking that took place.
Well, Rep. John Lewis is a beloved civil rights hero and is also well loved by his community and many of those people took to Twitter to let Donald Trump know exactly how they feel. Below is a small portion of the responses Trump’s received on Twitter:
@realDonaldTrump God you are an a**hole

@realDonaldTrump You should focus on learning to be presidential, instead of acting like a douchebag reality TV star.

@realDonaldTrump We can use all the help we can get kicking you out of office!

@realDonaldTrump Stop disrespecting that man. You wonder why black America doesn’t connect with you? You’re attacking an MLK associate…

@realDonaldTrump You need psychiatric help. Get that.

.@realDonaldTrump I’m glad you’ve been mulling it over all day. This a LOT more grown up, but it doesn’t sound like a real apology, Donald.

@realDonaldTrump John Lewis risked his life fighting discrimination and the KKK. You are a bigot who was endorsed by the KKK.
— Miranda Yaver (@mirandayaver) January 15, 2017
@realDonaldTrump You are not a legitimate president or leader in any sense of the word. Never will be.
— LTB (@leentielu) January 15, 2017
@realDonaldTrump it’s really odd that the image of John Lewis conjures up thoughts of “burning cities” for you. Why is that?
