Shia LaBeouf has made no attempt to conceal his contempt for “President” Donald Trump.
Recently the actor has chosen to use not only his creativity, but also his platform for good will. Following Trump’s swearing-in, LaBeouf started a four-year livestream called “He Will Not Divide Us” in protest of the newly-inaugurated president.
Outside of the New York Museum of the Moving Image, anti-Trump activists are able to gather together to share the words “he will not divide us” in front of the camera Labeouf has set up. According to reports, the livestream will continue for at least the next four years, or until Trump’s presidential tenure comes to a close.
Of course, anyone is allowed to show up, as the livestream is set up on public property.
So on Sunday, when LaBeouf was confronted by a white supremacist who tried to overtake the livestream, he made a point to make sure the man didn’t get away with his racist vehement racism.
As the man moved in toward the camera, he can be heard uttering the word “14” — a rallying call to fellow white supremacists such as himself. But before he had the chance to start spewing what likely would have been more racist, pro-Trump, hate speech, LaBeouf got directly up in his personal space and started loudly shouting “he will not divide us.”
“14” stands for “fourteen words” — the most popular white supremacist slogan in the world. According to the Anti-Defamation League, it means:
‘We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.’
David Lane, a member of the white supremacist terrorist group called The Order, coined the term to reflect the so-called threat of extinction white supremacists fear amidst rapidly increasing multiculturalism in the west.
Unafraid to get directly in a stranger’s personal space, LaBeouf continues chanting “he will not divide us” until the white supremacist flees from the proximity of the museum.
A clip from the livestream was later posted to the official “He Will Not Divide Us” Twitter page.
