Trump Belligerently Attacks Obama During Early Morning Twitter Meltdown (TWEET)

It seems the President has a nasty habit of taking to Twitter to share his thoughts first thing in the morning, for better or for worse.

On Thursday morning, a clearly very irate Trump took tweeted, “ungrateful TRAITOR Chelsea Manning, who should never have been released from prison, is now calling President Obama a weak leader. Terrible!”

Trump’s tweet appeared to be a response to Manning’s tweet on Wednesday, linking to her op-ed in The Guardian.

Manning tweeted, “takeaway from the @BarackObama legacy: What we need is a strong #unapologeticprogressive to lead us.”

Manning, a harsh critic of President Obama, believes he made “very few permanent accomplishments” throughout his two-term presidency. She writes:

‘We need to stop asking them to give us our rights. We need to stop hoping that our systems will right themselves. We need to actually take the reins of government and fix our institutions. We need to save lives by making change at every level.’

Of course, Manning acknowledges that this “unapologetic progressive” leader isn’t Trump, and that things are only likely to get worse under the Trump administration’s leadership. However, it’s clear she blames at least partial blame with Obama for creating a political climate where Trump is able to thrive, writing, “now, after eight years of attempted compromise and relentless disrespect in return, we are moving into darker times. Healthcare will change for the worse, especially for those of us in need. Criminalization will expand, with bigger prisons filled with penalized bodies – poor, black, brown, queer and trans people. People will probably be targeted because of their religion. Queer and trans people expect to have their rights infringed upon.”

It seems as though Trump has found someone he dislikes even more than President Obama. Who would’ve thought.
