J.K. Rowling Is Trolling Piers Morgan For Supporting Trump & It Is Spectacular (TWEETS)

Three cheers for Twitter.

In a world of Nazi-esque fascists rising to the highest rungs of power, take a moment to bask in the glory of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling’s epic Twitter takedown of infamous British Trump supporter Piers Morgan.

The whole shabang was started by Rowling tweeting that she enjoyed watching Morgan get told to “f*ck off” on live television late Friday night. She wrote, captioning a retweeted clip of the television incident in question, “Yes, watching Piers Morgan being told to f*ck off on live TV is *exactly* as satisfying as I’d always imagined.”

Rowling has long been an avid, vocal critic of Trump. The discussion, on Real Time with Bill Maher, which saw Morgan get told to f*ck off was about Trump’s Muslim targeting travel ban. Morgan asserted that the ban wasn’t a “Muslim ban,” and comedian Jim Jefferies, citing the hundreds of millions of Muslims specifically targeted by the ban, told him to f*ck off.

Well Morgan, in characteristic Trump supporter fashion, could not fathom letting Rowling’s criticism of him go unaddressed.

He replied to her initial tweet by writing, “This is why I’ve never read a single word of Harry Potter.”

It’s worth noting that, soon after the initial tweetstorm, someone dug up an article in which Morgan quotes extensively from Harry Potter in an attack on disgraced athlete Lance Armstrong.

Well, if Morgan wanted to play, then Rowling was going to play.

She replied to his pompous assertion that he’d never read a word of Harry Potter by asking him why exactly such was the case, writing, “Because you had a premonition that one day the author would roar with laughter at seeing you called out for your bullsh*t on live TV?”

Morgan and Rowling went on for awhile back and forth.

Morgan eventually broke the thread, writing airily, “The superior, dismissive arrogance of rabid Remain/Clinton supporters like J.K. Rowling is, of course, precisely why both campaigns lost.”

But Rowling still wasn’t about to let him off the hook, replying with her own version of Morgan’s comment, writing, “The fact-free, amoral, bigotry-apologism of celebrity toady Piers Morgan is, of course, why it’s so delicious to see him told to f*ck off.”

Check out the rest of the argument over on Rowling’s Twitter page. It includes the author calling Morgan out for sounding suspiciously like a certain German from the 1930’s…
