Republican senators are calling for a complete investigation into Michael Flynn’s conversations with a Russian ambassador, and are currently planning a chain of investigations into Russian hackers interfering with the U.S. presidential election.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC.) is calling for an investigation into Flynn’s conversations. During his appearance on CNN’s At This Hour, Graham told reporter Kate Boldaun:

‘I THINK CONGRESS NEEDS TO BE INFORMED OF WHAT ACTUALLY GEN. FLYNN SAID TO THE RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR ABOUT LIFTING SANCTIONS. AND I WANT TO KNOW, DID GEN. FLYNN DO THIS BY HIMSELF OR WAS HE DIRECTED BY SOMEONE TO DO IT?’

On Tuesday, CNN reporters asked Senate majority whip John Cornyn (R-TX.) if he’d like to have the Senate’s standing committees investigate Flynn. The senator replied “yes,” but did not wish to say if he believes Flynn should go before Congress to testify.

The Republican senator said of Flynn:

‘I think it’s symbolic of somebody with a distinguished military career making a bad mistake.’

Michael Flynn’s resignation follows reports of treasonous relations with Russia. Last month, the Trump administration was notified that Flynn lied to officials about the intent of his discussions and whether he brought up the issue of sanctions with the Russian ambassador.

Senate intelligence committee member Senator Roy Blunt told KTRS radio that he would also like to see Flynn investigated.

Blunt said:

‘I think everybody needs that investigation to happen. And the Senate Intelligence Committee, again that I serve on, has been given the principle responsibility to look into this, and I think that we should look into it exhaustively so that at the end of this process, nobody wonders whether there was a stone left unturned, and shouldn’t reach conclusions before you have the information that you need to have to make those conclusions.’

‘I would think that we should talk to Gen. Flynn very soon and that should answer a lot of questions. What did he know? What did he do? And is there any reason to believe that anybody knew that and didn’t take the kind of action they should have taken?’
