Ohio Republican and Former Speaker, John Boehner just said something that President Trump does not want to be known to the public. A full repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act will not be happening.
Boehner spoke to a crowd at a healthcare conference in Florida Thursday when he said:
“[Congressional Republicans are] going to fix Obamacare — I shouldn’t call it repeal-and-replace, because it’s not going to happen.”
Boehner railed hard against Obamacare during his time as Speaker of the House. He continued:
“Most of the framework of the Affordable Care Act … that’s going to be there.” adding that “Republicans never ever agree on healthcare.”
The GOP has found it much harder than expected to rip apart the historical healthcare program put in place by President Obama. Slowly, but surely, Republicans are realizing they might not want to make a huge mess just to attempt to erase Obama’s untouchable legacy.
This isn’t the last we’ve heard on the matter though, folks. They will get bored again, and once again decide that millions of Americans should go without healthcare coverage.
