A raid on an al Qaeda compound in Yemen last month that failed to accomplish its primary goal of capturing or killing al Qaeda leader Qassim al Rimi, also reportedly failed to produce any significant intelligence.

Despite claims from the White House that the raid was “a successful operation by all standards,” it seems that isn’t the case. The raid, which killed U.S. Navy SEAL Chief Petty Officer William “Ryan” Owens, 30 civilians, and an 8-year-old American girl, failed to collect any valuable information, NBC News reports.

According to a senior Congressional official who spoke with NBC News, the Trump administration is currently unaware of any intel gained from the raid. The official’s remarks are in stark opposition to claims made by Pentagon officials, who previously stated the mission produced “actionable intelligence” about al Qaeda’s ties in Yemen.

The Trump administration has yet to explain the rare use of boots on the ground troops in Yemen, however, the senior Congressional official did go on to state that he wasn’t aware of any new threats from al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

Last week, Bill Owens, the father of the Navy SEAL killed in the raid questioned Trump’s decision to send his son on the mission in the first place:

‘Why at this time did there have to be this stupid mission when it wasn’t even barely a week into his administration? Why? For two years prior, there were no boots on the ground in Yemen — everything was missiles and drones — because there was not a target worth one American life. Now, all of a sudden we had to make this grand display?’

Mr. Owens went on, calling for an investigation into his son’s death.

“Don’t hide behind my son’s death to prevent an investigation,” he said before going to demand it been looked into further. “I want an investigation. The government owes my son an investigation.”

The controversial raid has garnered significant backlash from fellow politicians, most notably Sen. John McCain, who questioned the success of the raid.

Rep. Ted Lieu also called Trump out for worrying about his ongoing feud with the media instead of focusing on intelligence reports. He took to Twitter Sunday, writing:

‘Note to @realDonaldTrump: Perhaps if you focused less on @nytimes and more on intelligence reports, SEAL Owens wouldn’t be dead right now.’

‘I & others requested answers about #Yemen raid & death of SEAL Owens. @POTUS is stonewalling. What did Trump know?’
