During a White House health care listening session today, when President Donald Trump could have been reassuring the masses who are worried about the loss of healthcare under the GOP Repeal and Replace plan, he used the precious time to bash former President Barack Obama and Obamacare. Specifically, he touted that the only reason why the press is reporting on Obamacare positively is because it’s on its way out, just like how the only reason people love Obama is because he’s now out of office.
‘But, the press is making Obamacare look so good all of a sudden. I’m watching the news, looks so good. They are showing these reports about this one gets so much and this one gets so much.’
He added that Obamacare was “imploding” and 2017 would be the “worst year.” That’s when he mentioned it was only because Obama was gone.
‘I say it once, I’ll say it again. It’s because Obama is gone. You know, things are going to be very bad this year for the people with Obamacare. They are going to have tremendous increases.’
He went on to explain why it would be so bad for those people.
‘People aren’t going to see the truly devastating effects of Obamacare. They are not going to see the devastation in ’17, ’18, and ’19. It’ll be gone by then. Whether we do it or not, it will be imploded off the map. So, the press is making it look so wonderful, so that if we end it everyone’s going to say, “Oh remember how great Obamacare used to be. Remember how wonderful it used to be. It was so great.” It’s a little bit like President Obama. When he left, people liked him. When he was here, people didn’t like him so much. That’s the way life goes. It’s human nature. The fact is, Obamacare is a disaster.’
Actually, back in 2009 Obama’s approval rating was at 58 percent, and his approval rating was at a seven-year high back in November. People have always liked him, it’s just Republicans who didn’t.
Furthermore, there’s a reason why Obamacare seems so wonderful to people. It’s because they have decent healthcare for once. Diabetics were able to buy insulin. You know, insulin, that life-saving medication that can run $496.59 for 15 mls. People don’t like the prospect of death. That’s why Obamacare seems so wonderful and why people are scared beyond belief of what will happen now. Obamacare was never perfect; however, people were able to survive because of it.
