Donald Trump Announces Major Flip Flop – Wants To Take Case To Supreme Court

Donald Trump is a textbook narcissist; he can’t accept defeat and as a result, won’t leave well enough alone. When Federal District Judge James Robart blocked the first attempt Trump made to, in essence, ban Muslims from certain countries from coming into the United States, Trump tweeted:

Wednesday, the state of Hawiai’i and Ismail Elshikh saw Trump in court. They won. In true narcissistic bully fashion, Trump didn’t take his loss well. Despite having boasted about seeing the ban through the next round of court proceedings like the scales of justice don’t have two sides, losing has Trump now saying that the ruling (which is found here) by Federal District Judge Derrick K. Watson is “judicial overreach.”

However, it appears that it is Trump who is “overrreaching.” Although his first ban was struck down, as part of his rant to Nashville group of fellow small-minded people, Trump said he wanted to go back to the first draft. He asserted:

‘This is a watered-down version of the first one. And let me tell you something, I think we ought to go back to the first one and go all the way, which is what I wanted to to in the first place.’

White privilege means:  You can try to pass racist legislation, attempt to usurp the justice system, threaten to use that same legal system against people exercising their Constitutional rights, then say the system that you threatened to see the plaintiffs in your case in, “overreached.” Donald Trump didn’t stop at saying Judge Watson abused his judicial authority.

In fact, Trump once again made an “I’ll see you in court,” type of statement. He boasted:

‘We’re going to take our case as far as it needs to go, including all the way up to the Supreme Court.’

The New York Times reports that Trump attempted to rally the Nashville crowd of fellow racists behind his belief that he is the victim of some type of injustice. Imagine that.

At one point, Trump wailed:

‘You don’t think this was done by a judge for political reasons, do you? This ruling makes us look weak — which, by the way, we no longer are, believe me.’

Donald Trump is working to pass one of the most racist pieces of legislation in recent history. His own words are part of what has led to yet another judge halting the order, but Trump is worried about “looking weak.” Alluding to the charged and hateful language Donald Trump has a history of using, Judge Watson said as part of his finding that a:

‘. . .reasonable, objective observer {would view the order as} issued with a purpose to disfavor a particular religion, in spite of its stated, religiously neutral purpose.’

Issuing an order “with a purpose to disfavor a particular religion. . .,” is weak. Donald Trump’s constant temper tantrums, are weak. Watching Trump scream to the point of having a raspy voice because he is angry, is weak. Promoting racism and masking it as patriotism, is weak.

Seeing a legal system that is often the cause of so much hurt, injustice, and inequality, actually work, is a display of the strength that America is supposed to be rooted in. Donald Trump wouldn’t understand that, though.
