Trump Stuns Women’s Event With Rude Remark About Susan B. Anthony (VIDEO)

When it comes to most politicians, they usually have some sort of knowledge of history. They ought to. They are politicians after all, and the history of politics is just as important as the current events of politics.

With our Not-President Donald Trump, however, we can say he’s not the greatest with history. He proved that, yet again, today when he spoke to a group of women in observance of Women’s History Month.

He tried to convince the crowd of women that he had a hugely diverse cabinet — which has already been proven to be false. Out of 24 positions, 6 have gone to women. What about black or Hispanic men? Fuh-get about it. The last time the cabinet had that many men was during the Reagan years. Indeed, he had a whole stage full of a whopping four women behind him.

To be fair, he did get part of it right. He obviously got a 3rd grade-level book about women in history and did some quick research (or had it done for him). He said:

‘Since the very beginning, women have driven, and I mean, each generation of Americans, towards a more free and more prosperous future. These patriots are women like the legendary Abigail Adams, right? Who, during the founding, urged her husband to remember the rights of women.’

Good, so far. He sounded like a kid guessing the answer to the question in an oral exam, but he got it right. He went on to mention the achievements of Harriet Tubman. He said to believe him when it comes to knowing how courageous Harriet Tubman was. Yes, Trump, we believe you. You were there, and she was fantastic.

However, that’s when it went horribly, horribly wrong when he began to speak about another historical figure.

‘And we’ve had leaders like Susan B. Anthony. Have you heard of Susan B. Anthony? I’m shocked that you’ve heard of her…’

One could argue he was being sarcastic. He’s a sarcastic guy. However, there’s an appropriate time for sarcasm, and there is an inappropriate time for sarcasm. This was the latter. Furthermore, you SHOULDN’T be sarcastic when it comes to the achievements of some of the greatest women in the history of America… especially when she’s been commemorated on a coin. Also, she’s one of the first women you actually learn about. There are plenty more untold heroes in the fight for gender equality that with a little digging, Trump could have brought to the table. He cherry picked the first names that popped into his head that anyone could throw up first if they were asked to name historical female figures.

He also added that she:

‘…dreamed of a much more fair and equal future and an America where women themselves as she said helped to make laws and elect the lawmakers, and that’s what’s happening more and more.’

So says the guy with only four women in his cabinet, who enjoys grabbing female genitals, has been through three marriages, and once said he would perhaps date his own daughter if she wasn’t his daughter.

Twitter responded most hilarious, of course. The tweets range from hilarious to furious.

‘”Mr. President, tell us what you most admire about Susan B. Anthony?” “I’m not sure. Terrific woman. Her son, Carmelo, is quite the baller.”‘

One Twitter user referred back to Trump’s Fredrick Douglass gaffe, when he said Douglass was “…an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more.”

‘@ericgeller @jeneps @darth she’s dating Fredrick Douglass’

‘They are having a party with Abe Lincoln, who it’s just been revealed, was Republican.’

‘Hey, you’d think he’d know all about Susan B. Anthony, seeing as though she was ON MONEY. Ugh!!’

‘Every time I hear @realDonaldTrump speak I see Jed Clampett in my head, w/o the accent. And Jed’s got more class. “Susan B. Anthony”‘

‘@realDonaldTrump ‘ s “Do you know who Susan B Anthony question almost had me throwing things at my car radio. He is poorly educated.’

‘@revsusanrussell “Hv U heard of Susan B Anthony? She has a vagina, too, & she’s famous, doing gr8 things! What? Whatd I say? Crooked media!”‘
