Trump Attempts To Copy Obama’s ‘Situation Room’ Photo – Fails Miserably (IMAGE)

On Thursday evening, the U.S. military fired 59 tomahawk cruise missiles at an airfield near Homs, Syria, in retaliation to the chemical weapons attack that killed approximately 100 civilians earlier this week.

On Friday, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer tweeted a photo of President Trump and his advisers in what some have dubbed his “alternative situation room” at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, as the airstrike occurred.

Social media users seemingly couldn’t ignore the striking resemblance between the photo Spicer tweeted and a photo of former President Barack Obama in the official Situation Room during the Bin Laden raid of 2011.

Here’s Spicer’s tweet:

‘Photo taken, after strike, approximately 9:15pm ET on Thursday April 6, 2017 in SCIF at Mar-a-Lago.’

A New York Times reporter quickly tweeted both photos side-by-side, setting off a Twitter firestorm as social media users began chiming in to compare the two photos.

‘Obama in WH situation room, Bin Laden raid, May 1, 2011 by @Pete Souza44. Trump in Mar a Lago SCIF, Syria strike, April 6, 2017 by @PressSec.’

Many users saw Spicer’s photo of Trump’s team as a means of one-upping Obama:

‘all the sweating men dreaming of their very own Obama Situation Room photo.’

‘@Stevekopack @PressSec He’s trying to recreate the Obama situation room photo. Doesn’t convey any gravitas in his golf club cubicle.’

‘legit this is just a man trying to cop Obama’s situation room photo.’

One user called Trump a “country club Republican” for authorizing the airstrike from the comfort of his Mar-a-Lago resort:

‘Trump and his Mar A Lago crew are literally “country club Republicans.” This must be the first situation room with a salad bar.’

Others questioned Trump’s professionalism, writing:

‘It’s truly disturbing that Trump had neo-Nazis in the fake Situation Room when he ordered a major military operation.’

‘@realDonaldTrump is at Mar-A-Lago while initiating a strike against Syria.

‘What situation room did they use, the golf course storage shed?’

Some even begged for help:

‘Lord help us!’

And others just called him out for being just plain lazy:

‘Shouldn’t Trump be in WH situation room when bombing another country rather than chilling in his Florida golf resort?’

Some questioned why Steve Bannon — Trump’s “chief strategist” who was removed from his role as head of the National Security Council this week — was present at the head of the table.

‘@ABC and there’s Bannon at the top of the room. Why is he there? he was kicked off NSC. Is this a secure room? at Trump a Lago, is doubtful!’

‘Trump administration the liars they are said Steve Bannon were no longer on the national security council yet he is in the war room before.’

Some users just cracked hilarious jokes, with one Trump spoof account tweeting:

‘Steve Bannon came to NSC meeting, even tho I removed him from the Council. AWKWARD! It’s like when all 3 of your wives are in the same room!’

And last but certainly not least came the memes:
